The 23rd Mohawk-Hudson River Marathon and the 4th U.S. Marine Corps Half-Marathon will be held Sunday, October 9th, 2005. The marathon will be limited to 550 runners and the half will be limited to 400 runners and 50 walkers. Last year the half-marathon closed out, so please register early.

Registration and information for both events is available now at Active.com. Beginning June 1st, 2005, registration forms may be downloaded at www.hmrrc.com by clicking on race applications and choosing the name of your event. Paper applications will be mailed July 5th, 2005.

Descriptions of the courses will be available at www.hmrrc.com, again you will need to click on race applications and choose the name of your event. The host hotel is the Crowne Plaza with a special rate ($90) available for participants. A pasta party at a downtown Albany restaurant is planned for Saturday night.

New this year for local walkers and runners, is the opportunity to join a training program for the half-marathon where participants will receive coaching to assist them in completing the event.. For a modest fee, walkers and runners will join training groups starting mid-June and running to October, receive an in-training technical T-shirt, a guaranteed entry into the half-marathon and a donation in their name made to the Toy's for Tots program.
