The Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club is the Albany N.Y. area's largest running organization. The Club was formed in 1971 and today has over 2,000 members. Our members come in all shapes and sizes and from all walks of life, as well as different running styles and speeds. All of us are united in our love of running and our desire to promote and participate in quality races and running-related activities.
Our Club organizes nearly 30 running events a year. Club races are held at many different locations throughout the Capital District. Our events offer something for everyone, novice and veteran alike. Some of our events include:
Most Club races are low-key events with a minimal entry fee for members. Longer distance races are usually accompanied by a shorter race for those not interested in or ready for the longer race. There are also special events for children at several races.
Club members can also earn points in specified Grand Prix races throughout the year. These points count toward the Club championship, and awards presented at our annual Banquet.
Our Club also organizes and directs several of the area's premier running events, including the Mohawk-Hudson Marathon, the 15K Stockade-athon, and the GHI Corporate Challenge Team Championship.
Our award-winning monthly magazine, which contains schedules of local and regional races, race results, articles on Club activities, and advice on training, injuries, nutrition, equipment, and safety. Entry blanks for major area races and advertisements from local stores are also included.
Members are invited to attend our annual Awards Banquet in January.

Attending Club events will give you an opportunity to meet and make friends with many other runners in the area.

Club members are actively involved in improving the quality of running events staged in the Capital District and promoting greater awareness of health and safety among runners and the general public. You can help by working as a race volunteer or serving on a Club committee.
